Marina joined ABG in 2017 and is a patent adviser in the biotechnology department. Her practice is focused on patent prosecution and opinion work in the area of biotechnology, particularly in relation to molecular biology, pharmacogenomics, gene therapy, immunology, animal models, diagnostic methods and the production of pharmaceutically active substances using genetically modified organisms.
Before she started at ABG, Marina worked in an intellectual property firm in Madrid. Regarding the research activities, she completed a Master in biomedical research at the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona (2010) and she did her PhD at the “Gene Regulation, Stems Cells and Cancer” department at the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona (2016). Her PhD research focused on translation regulation in eukaryotes and was published in different scientific journals.
Marina is a native Spanish and French speaker, she is fluent in English and has an intermediate knowledge of Catalan.
