Guillermo joined ABG in 2015 and is a patent adviser in the biotechnology department. His practice is focused in patent drafting and prosecution, as well as opinion work. He is a qualified Spanish Patent and Trademark Agent (2017).

Before joining ABG, Guillermo worked as a technical adviser for intellectual property agencies in Spain and Thailand.

His scientific experience includes multidisciplinary projects in several academic institutions. His research at the LBNL (Berkeley, California) focused on the characterisation of freeze-dried hydroxyapatite scaffolds. At DIBIT (Milan, Italy) Guillermo studied novel protein regulators of Prep1-Pbx1 transcriptional activity. His PhD project at Imperial College London involved the development of microfluidic systems for the compartmentalised culture of primary neurons and the characterisation of the neurotrophin signalling cascade.

Additionally, Guillermo worked in the technical support department of Illumina (Cambridge, UK) as a specialist in high-throughput sequencing systems.

Guillermo is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English and Italian.
