Rodrigo joined ABG in 2020 and is a patent adviser in the Biotechnology Department. His practice focuses on patent draft and prosecution, opinion work and patentability searches.

Before he started at ABG, Rodrigo worked at UK-based and German patent attorney firms in Munich. In 2016 he passed the professional qualification exams of the German Federal Patent Court / German Patent and Trademark Office, obtaining the title “Patentassessor”. He has been a German patent attorney “Patentanwalt” and a member of the German Patent Bar Association from 2017 to 2020.

Prior to his career as an IP professional (2013), Rodrigo worked in Munich at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology, (2001-2006) and the Ludwig-Maximilian University (2007-2012).

His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals (Cell Stem Cell, Nature protocols, PLoS Biology, Genes & Development, etc) and presented at international scientific meetings.

Rodrigo is a native speaker of Spanish and he is fluent in English and German.
