On the 22nd of July ABG Intellectual Property received in its offices in Madrid a pre-university student group from the The Lex Fellowship programme, which gives the opportunity for future Law students in the United States to tackle real cases along with professionals from different countries in Law firms, with the goal that students can choose with certainty their future in the legal world.
ABG IP has been one of the chosen Intellectual Property firms in Madrid for this edition and has been in charge of the organization of the session about Trademarks Law in the European Union.
The visit started with a presentation about ABG IP, given by Dr. Tomás Llamas, European Patent Attorney and associate in the chemistry department. Then, our Attorneys at Law, Inés Cantero and Patricia Guillén, introduced a case relating to trademarks infringement and nullity action in the European Union based on real facts that the students had to solve working in teams.
The students have actively discussed the case to finally reach decisions about the best strategies to take. During this session, the students have also discussed the challenges that Intellectual Property faces in the digital world, artificial intelligence or piracy and to find answers to their queries and concerns.
We want to thank The Lex Fellowship for their interest in our firm, and we hope that this experience has been helpful for the students to clarify their future as lawyers.
