Óscar joined ABG in 2026 and is a Technical Adviser in the Engineering & Physics department. His practice focuses on patent prosecution and drafting, prior art searches, and the preparation of technical reports, primarily in the fields of physics, instrumentation, electronics, and data processing.
Before joining ABG, Óscar worked on several research projects in different technological areas, including hardware-based cryptographic systems and artificial intelligence applications for industrial optimisation between 2017 and 2019. He subsequently completed his PhD at the University of Zaragoza, where his research was conducted within the framework of several international astroparticle physics experiments, including TREX-DM and IAXO.
His work focused on the development of advanced scientific instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis, detector characterisation, and background reduction techniques for ultra-low-radioactivity experiments.
During his PhD, Óscar completed a research placement at CEA Paris-Saclay (France), where he worked on the development and characterisation of gaseous detectors for particle physics applications. He has also participated in projects dedicated to the development of quantum sensors based on superconducting qubits.
He has published in leading scientific journals, including Physical Review Letters, Journal of High Energy Physics, and Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, and has presented his work at various international conferences.
Óscar is a native Spanish speaker and he is fluent in English and French.
