ABG IP partner and head of our Barcelona office, Enric Carbonell, has participated in the panel discussion “The European patent with unitary effect and the Unified Patent Court: implications of its implementation” moderated by Juan Martínez Armesto, chairman of the Redtransfer committee. In his speech, Enric Carbonell explained what the new scenario will look like once the so-called “unitary patent” comes into force to protect inventions in Europe.

The round table was held within the framework of the 9th Meeting of Knowledge Transfer and Management Professionals, with the participation of Javier Etxabe (Head of Protection of Results and Promotion of EBTs Unit, VATC-CSIC), Mª José de Concepción (Deputy Director General, Director of the Patents and Technological Information Department, SPTO), Alfredo Fernández (Head of Patents,  Ferrer International) and Toni López-Carrasco (Senior Patent Expert, Telefónica Patent Office).

After two years as a virtual event, the encounter was this time held in a hybrid format, on 5 and 6 May 2022. More than 70 attendees were able to attend the conference both in person in Girona and via streaming.

The aim of these sessions organised by the Association of Research Transfer, Innovation and Management Professionals, Redtransfer, is to offer professionals dedicated to knowledge and innovation management a space for the exchange of experiences.

ABG Intellectual Property would like to thank Redtransfer for their invitation to participate in this event and congratulate them for such a fantastic initiative.
