The prestigious publication Managing IP has selected Marta Rodríguez, Sofia Petterson and Iain McGeoch as Rising Stars in its final issue of 2020/21. This distinction recognises “some of the best up-and-coming IP practitioners in private practice who contributed to the success of their firms and clients“. Less than 30 Intellectual Property specialists have been awarded throughout Spain.
Moreover, the profile created by the specialised journal also names other ABG Intellectual Property professionals who have been chosen as Patent Stars or Notable Practitioners. Recognised Patent Stars include the firm’s co-founders, Juan Arias and Francisco Bernardo, each of whom has more than 30 years of experience in their career, as well as Fernando Prieto, the partner responsible for creating the Electromechanics Department in 2004, department which is now divided into the Engineering & Physics and Information & Communication Technology Departments.
The “Notable Practitioners” chosen by Managing IP include Irene Vázquez, European Patent Attorney and Associate in our Biotechnology Department, and Laura Montoya, Lawyer and Head of ABG’s Legal & Litigation Department.
ABG “one of the most respected IP firms in the Spanish market”
In its yearly review, Managing IP considers ABG as a whole and states that:
“ABG Intellectual Property is one of the most respected IP firms in the Spanish market”
Our clients highlight the work that we carry out on patent protection and litigation for companies such as Esteve, Oncostellae, Airbus and Repsol.
“In the patents practice you will find experienced senior patent attorneys such as Pablo Calvo, Agustín Alconada, Fernando Prieto and Enric Carbonell”, affirms Managing IP in its review.
Managing IP also makes sure to mention the excellent work carried out by ABG’s Trademarks Department, which is led by Christine Weimann and Inés Cantero. Clearpath Robotics, Fincas Patagónicas and Sylentis are a few clients of this service that the publication highlights.
In addition to prestige and recognition stemming from this publication, which is a global reference specialising in Intellectual Property, we recall that Managing IP also named ABG Intellectual Property ”Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year” 2020, an award that we have received six times since our founding.
A team effort
Without a doubt, ABG considers it an honour that a publication which conducts rigorous research includes it among its pages and recognises it with commendations and awards. We also believe that it supports our commitment to talent, professionalism and quality client service which, if not the quickest way for a firm like ours to grow, it is certainly a guarantee for the future.
Lastly, we want to congratulate all team members for the work recognised by Managing IP and take the opportunity to thank everyone who may have not been mentioned but who make it possible for ABG’s reputation to be one of our best cover letters.
