Financial Times selects ABG IP among the top patent firms in Europe for the fifth consecutive year

The prestigious economic newspaper, Financial Times, once again includes us in its “Europe’s Leading Patent Law Firms” ranking which has been rigorously drawn up by the German company Statista since 2019.

At ABG IP, we are proud to have been included in this study’s five editions and, furthermore, we belong to the small group of European firms that reappears in all categories of the report:

One of the novelties is that our medal in the category of Materials and Nanotechnology passes from silver in 2022 to gold this year. The complete list of awards, therefore, is the best achieved by our firm to date: it consists of three golds, two silvers and one bronze.

An independent study without nominations

As occurs every year and according to the British newspaper in this special report, the opinion of 3,300 clients and patent attorneys from all kinds of organisations has been taken into account in order to select the 177 agencies throughout Europe that are included in this edition. The study’s methodology does not admit the submission of nominations, nor do the firms send any information; instead, the study is prepared independently based on the responses of completed surveys.

The mention of ABG IP, therefore, is solely the result of the satisfaction of a sector that values the quality of our services. Behind this excellence is a diverse and multicultural team made up of 70 people throughout offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao, and whose merits are worth highlighting:

  • 18 European Patent Attorneys
  • 17 Doctors in different areas of science and technology
  • 8 Spanish Patent & Trademarks Agents
  • 5 Attorneys-at-Law

In this year in which we celebrate our twentieth anniversary, we take great pride in seeing that our leading position in Europe’s industrial and intellectual property sector is fully consolidated and that there are an increasing number of innovative organisations that trust us to protect their developments. We believe that this Financial Times ranking backs these ideas. Thank you to everyone who contributes to it in one way or another.

The special report on “Europe’s Leading Patent Law Firms 2023” has been published in both print and digital editions of the Financial Times and is available here.
