We are among the European elite of patent firms. This is confirmed by the latest edition of the ranking “Europe’s Leading Patent Law Firms”, published today by the prestigious British newspaper Financial Times, which ranks us as a leader in patents in Europe after awarding us the highest distinction in all the categories analyzed.
This result marks an unprecedented milestone for us. This year, we achieved gold in all six evaluated technological sectors, consolidating a cross-disciplinary leadership across all key areas of innovation.
“Achieving gold in all categories is something that seemed unattainable just a few years ago. Above all, it is a recognition of the team’s consistent work and the trust our clients have placed in us over time,” said Juan Arias, our managing partner.
Recognised for the eighth consecutive year
With this, we have now been included in the ranking for eight consecutive years: in 2019, we were the only Spanish firm recognised, specifically in the biotechnology field.
Since then, we have steadily progressed to achieve the highest distinction in all sectors currently evaluated:
- Biotechnology, Healthcare, and Food: Gold
- Chemistry and Pharmacy: Gold
- Electrical Engineering & Physics: Gold
- Materials and Nanotechnology: Gold
- Mechanical Engineering: Gold
- IT and Software: Gold
The ranking, compiled by Financial Times in collaboration with the German consulting firm Statista, is based on an independent survey of more than 3,000 clients and industry professionals, including patent attorneys and specialists from corporate intellectual property departments.
“The most valuable aspect of this recognition is that it comes directly from clients and peers in the sector. They are the ones who know our day-to-day work firsthand. Being recommended in all areas is a source of pride, but also a great responsibility,” Arias adds.
This result positions ABG IP as one of the most comprehensive and highly regarded firms in the European landscape, standing out for its technical approach and its ability to handle complex projects across multiple disciplines.
Thank you to everyone who has made it possible for ABG IP to become an international benchmark in intellectual property.
